Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager with a great attitude to join our team. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations, including cleaning of grounds, work orders and turning of units. This person will support our property in San Leandro, CA and may occasionally need to travel to assist other properties within the portfolio. We are looking for a skilled maintenance person that has good customer service, is pro-active, has a great attitude and can work in a fast-paced environment. The perfect candidate will also include;

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

2 or more years in a maintenance role, required. Additional technical training certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work order repairs
  • Perform make ready duties for vacant units, including painting and repairs
  • Coordinate with vendors, community manager and other maintenance staff
  • Upkeep of common area grounds and offices on daily basis
  • Cleaning of laundry rooms, mailbox areas and ensure trash enclosures are clean and hazard free
  • Deliver resident notices as requested by Manager
  • Walk the property and promptly report any violations or work needed to the Property Manager
  • Perform additional duties as required

Abilities:

  • Ability to handle various maintenance duties
  • Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing
  • Experience with plumbing, appliance repair and painting preferred
  • Ability to push/pull objects weighing more than 100 lbs. and lift and carry objects weighing more than 50 lbs., but not less than 100 lbs.
  • Interpret and understand maintenance work order information generated from software.
  • Effectively oversee work progress of vendors or outside contractors
  • Basic computer and problem-solving skills required
  • Be Available for After Hours On-Call Emergencies as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and stay organized
  • Driving is required and a valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.

Schedule Options:

Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm 

Compensation:

Pay range is $30-33/hr. Starting pay is based on experience.
