Job description

MOT Supervisor – Maintenance of Traffic

Art Walker Construction is hiring an experienced MOT Supervisor to oversee traffic control operations across our active road construction job sites. We're a road construction company with steady, local project work. This role plans and manages work zone traffic control in accordance with FDOT and MUTCD standards, keeping our crews and the traveling public safe.


What You'll Do

  • Review project plans and implement Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) layouts per FDOT and MUTCD standards
  • Supervise setup, maintenance, and removal of signs, cones, barricades, arrow boards, and other traffic control devices
  • Inspect work zones daily to confirm traffic control devices remain properly placed and in good condition
  • Coordinate MOT plan changes with foremen and project management as job phases progress
  • Train and oversee flaggers and traffic control crew members on proper procedures and safety standards
  • Serve as the point of contact for MOT-related questions from inspectors, project owners, or law enforcement
  • Maintain required MOT documentation, logs, and inspection records
  • Keep job sites safe, organized, and OSHA-compliant

Qualifications

  • Current FDOT Advanced MOT/TTC certification, or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Prior experience in road construction traffic control; supervisory experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of MUTCD standards and FDOT traffic control requirements
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and traffic control layouts
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including nights and weekends as project schedules require
  • Own reliable transportation to main yard in Citra or job sites
  • Team-first mindset
