At NAS Oceana located at Virginia Beach, VA, SA-TECH supports the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) that covers the development, integration, management and support of an integrated program to enable a continuous, multi-domain, Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) training platform across multiple physical training locations. Together with our partners, SA-TECH is helping integrate the Navy Combined Tactical Training Range (NCTTR) and the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) into the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) environment.


SA-TECH is currently looking to hire a Receptionist / Access Control Specialist at NAS Oceana (Virginia Beach, VA) to provide receptionist services for our facilities and the safeguarding of sensitive information IAW local Work Instructions. This position reports to the Site Security Representative.


Specific duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Answer incoming calls, direct callers to requested persons, take phone messages and track personnel who enter/exit the facility using the Visitor's Log.
  • Control building access and perform physical security checks as required.
  • Issue badges to cleared contractor employees, Government employees, and to visitors who have a valid Visit Authorization Request (VAR) on file.
  • Caution visitors against the possession of prohibited materials.
  • Maintain a current access roster.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all personnel entering or leaving the facilities.
  • Maintain sentry posts as required.
  • Must be capable of comprehending and implementing instructions concerning the operation of mechanical equipment such as generators, air conditioners, fire protection equipment, and other emergency equipment.
  • May be required to operate motor vehicles in order to patrol assigned areas.
  • May be required to visually check vehicles entering restricted areas.
  • Perform other routine clerical work such as recording and transmitting messages, providing information to callers, and making appointments.
  • May assist the Supply Technician with inventory and purchasing.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 50 pounds.
  • Constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness.
  • Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be capable of comprehending and implementing instructions concerning the operation of mechanical equipment such as generators, air conditioners, fire protection equipment, and other emergency equipment.
  • Must attain and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation
