Job description

Advanced Professional Security (APS) is looking for our new armed security officer for our bank location in Golden, CO. This role is responsible for maintaining a secure environment within and around the bank premises, ensuring the safety of staff, customers, and assets. You will be able to respond quickly to emergencies, enforce security protocols, and work with law enforcement.
Armed Security Guard
Our ideal candidate is someone who is observant, composed under pressure, fit to stand for long periods, professional, has unwavering integrity, and self-discipline while possessing strong written and verbal communication skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibility
  • Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the bank premises to detect suspicious activities or security breaches; use surveillance equipment to monitor all areas.
  • Access Control: Monitor and control entry/exit points, verify identification, and maintain visitor logs.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms, theft, vandalism, or disturbances; coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Incident Reporting: Document all incidents and security breaches in detailed reports; maintain accurate daily activity logs using Belfry.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers and employees, address concerns, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure firearms, surveillance cameras, alarms, and other security equipment are operational; report malfunctions.
  • Training & Compliance: Stay current with security protocols, laws, and bank policies; participate in ongoing training.
  • Collaboration: Work with bank management, staff, and local law enforcement to enhance security measures.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Minimum of 2 years in security, law enforcement or military experience; banking experience is a plus.
  • Valid firearms permit and ability to carry a firearm; knowledge of local laws and regulations.
  • Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in English written or oral form as well as speak and comprehend English without translation.
  • Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in high-stress situations; discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Must be neat, well-groomed and have professional appearance.
  • Able to meet any special qualifications set forth in post orders or other relevant protocols and directives.
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8-hours, lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment
The role will be posted with our client at CU of Colorado in Golden, CO. This individual will work Monday - Friday from 08:15A to 5:45P and Saturdays from 08:15A to 1:15P dependent upon employment classification status (Full-Time or Part-Time).
Compensation
The role pays $23.50/ hourly.
