Native to the Americas, armadillos are primarily found in South and Central America, with one species, the nine-banded armadillo, also found in the southern United States. They are mostly nocturnal, have strong digging abilities, and feed on insects, grubs, and other small invertebrates. Their unique appearance and behaviors make them fascinating creatures in the animal kingdom.
