Arglass Furnace is a fresh startup entering this market as a new innovative disrupter of the norm in glass manufacturing. Arglass plans to be the plant of choice for the spirits and beverage industries. As the first new glass plant in America in over a generation, Arglass is born to serve those customers whose needs for flexibility, efficiency and customization are not being met by legacy U.S. manufacturers or foreign glass suppliers. The plant has been designed by considering the best available proven technology and layout to provide high quality, highly flexible and efficient production.


We are seeking an Quality Line Controller to join the team in Valdosta, GA


Status of hire: Full time

Industry: Glass container manufacturing

Rotating 12 hour shifts


Responsibilities:

• Monitoring defects, line flow and transporting finished glass wares from the conveyor line to its next location for processing.

• Review the final condition of the bottle to ensure top quality, while ensuring that specific metric standards are achieved through the forming process.

• Use metric supplies to quantitively review aspects of fully formed containers

• Review Defects in Containers by inspecting product for any abnormalities and notify supervisor immediately of any issues

• Ensure steady line flow by standing up down wares and check for chipped and bruised finishes.

• Unjams lines, removes obstructions from conveyor, automatic inspection equipment, casepacker to maintain continuous processing of ware.

• Transport materials including glass from one position to another in a matter consistent with Arglass safety and efficiency policies

• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages

• Observes conveyors, automatic inspection equipment, case packers, for obstructions and make sure they are operating properly, and lines are continuously supplied with cartons.

• Quality inspection, operating equipment, and/or manually maneuvering equipment

• Read labels to expedite product flow into other departments

• Perform frequency checks check base, check bottle coding, carton coding, mispack detector, and carton gluing.

• Empty and discard down wares and cullet in roll out pans.

• Turns off equipment in case of malfunction and notifies supervisor or maintenance.

• Clean work area by sweeping floors using broom or air hose.

• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment consistent with Arglass policies and procedures while striving for zero accidents.

• Partner with other department to resolve issue and create new solutions

• Train and develop other personnel

• Help create a dynamic, results-oriented and fulfilling company culture based on teamwork

• Promote Arglass’ culture of Flexibility, Efficiency and Sustainability in all areas of the company.


Requirements:

• Two year degree in a related field or equivalent job experience2 or 4 year degree in a relevant field preferred or equivalent work experience.

• Ability to quickly learn the operation of employed business systems.

• Ability to analyse data and present results.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong team-working skills and the ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional team.

• Must be organized and adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.

• Physical Agility.

• Environment: Exposures encountered such as: hazardous materials, loud noise, and extreme heat.

• Essential physical requirements such as climbing, bending, reaching, standing, stooping or typing.

• Standing and walking throughout a 12-hour shift.
