VanTassel Proctor Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Traveling Superintendent to oversee on-site construction operations for commercial and retail projects across multiple regions of the country. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at coordinating subcontractors, and is committed to delivering projects on time, within budget, and with uncompromising quality and safety. The Superintendent will serve as the on-site leader, ensuring seamless execution from mobilization through project closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities, including subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure alignment on budgets, schedules, and quality control.

  • Enforce rigorous safety protocols and full compliance with OSHA standards.

  • Conduct daily and weekly inspections to track progress and maintain quality assurance.

  • Manage project documentation, including daily logs, reports, and subcontractor approvals.

  • Serve as the on-site client liaison, maintaining professional communication and relationships.

  • Implement and utilize construction management software (e.g., Procore) for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.

  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve issues or conflicts to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on large-scale mixed-use, commercial, or multifamily projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of commercial construction methods, processes, and safety standards.

  • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide for extended project assignments.

  • Proficiency in construction management platforms such as Procore.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • OSHA 30-hour certification highly preferred (OSHA 10 accepted with commitment to obtain OSHA 30).

  • High School diploma or GED required; advanced training or certifications a plus.
