Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.

Position Summary:

The Lead, Standards & PLM Integration is responsible for developing, governing, and continuously improving Saber Power's engineering standards, product definitions, configuration management processes, and reusable design content. This role partners with engineering discipline leaders to ensure technical information is accurate, controlled, and readily available throughout the product lifecycle. By integrating engineering standards with PLM, CAD, document management, estimating, procurement, and project systems, this position helps improve design consistency, engineering efficiency, and execution quality across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and governance of engineering standards, product definitions, design libraries, and reusable engineering content.
  • Manage engineering configuration control, revision management, and product lifecycle processes to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
  • Structure and maintain product data, assemblies, specifications, attributes, and approved configurations within Arena PLM or comparable PLM platforms.
  • Partner with engineering discipline leaders to develop, review, approve, and maintain controlled engineering standards and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering change management activities, including controlled revisions, deviations, obsolescence, and release of engineering standards.
  • Ensure alignment of PLM data with CAD, document management, estimating, procurement, manufacturing, and project execution systems.
  • Develop procedures, templates, work instructions, and training materials that promote consistent engineering practices across the organization.
  • Incorporate lessons learned, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives into engineering standards and design content.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve engineering governance, digital engineering workflows, and reuse of technical knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience.
  • Typically 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in engineering design, configuration management, engineering standards, PLM/PDM administration, or technical documentation within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or EPC environment.
  • Experience managing engineering configuration control, revision management, technical documentation, or product lifecycle processes.
  • Strong technical writing, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines while maintaining high standards of technical accuracy and document control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Arena PLM, Teamcenter, Windchill, Autodesk Vault, or comparable PLM/PDM platforms.
  • Experience supporting electrical, industrial, utility, manufacturing, or EPC engineering organizations.
  • Familiarity with engineering document management and CAD integration.
