Job description

About Veev
Veev is leading the transformation of the construction industry with an innovative approach to modular home construction. Veev's prefabricated closed-panel systems allow homes to be assembled efficiently on-site while delivering a more sustainable and higher-quality final product than traditional construction. As a new subsidiary of Lennar, Veev leverages the strength and scale of its parent company while maintaining the speed and disruptive approach of its roots as a Silicon Valley-based startup. Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multidisciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.
The Technical Lead, PLM Control Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring efficient product data management, regulatory compliance, and streamlined change control processes. Your expertise in Arena PLM, BOM structuring, and engineering change management will enable smooth collaboration between Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams. This role is best suited for individuals who thrive in operationally complex environments and take pride in driving clarity and execution across teams.
The Role
As the Technical Lead, PLM Control Specialist, you will define and drive PLM system architecture, change control strategy, and governance across the organization, while ensuring effective execution through the team.
This is a high-ownership role responsible for maintaining both the integrity and velocity of Veev's change control system, ensuring engineering changes are accurately defined and efficiently executed across production.
You will define how PLM and change control operate at Veev-establishing scalable systems, standards, and workflows across Arena, PDM, and ERP. While PLM Specialists focus on executing change control processes, this role is responsible for defining, scaling, and continuously improving those systems.. This role operates as part of a lean change control function, where responsibilities are shared across the Technical Lead, PLM Specialists, and Sustaining Engineering leadership.
Responsibilities
  • PLM Strategy & System Architecture
    • Define and drive the long-term PLM and change control strategy aligned with product development, NPI, and production needs
    • Own the architecture and evolution of Arena PLM, including data models, workflows, and integrations with PDM, ERP, and downstream systems
    • Establish scalable standards for BOM structure, revision control, and product data management across the organization
    • Partner with Engineering, NPI, Manufacturing, and IT to ensure PLM systems support real-world production workflows and constraints
  • Process Optimization & Compliance
    • Drive system-level improvements across PLM, implementing and enforcing best practices to improve efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
    • Conduct audits and identify process inefficiencies to improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of product updates.
    • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities, ensuring changes move quickly without compromising accuracy or control.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Own and lead Change Control Board (CCB) governance, defining decision frameworks, prioritization logic, and ensuring consistent execution across all programs.
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality leadership to define and drive change control processes that support product scalability and operational efficiency.
    • Serve as the primary PLM authority, establishing standards and governing how product data and change control are managed across the organization.
    • Lead and develop PLM Specialists, establishing best practices and elevating the overall capability of the PLM function.
    • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on PLM system functionality and change management workflows.

Must-Have Skills and Competencies
These are critical skills, competencies, and qualifications required for success in this role.
  • Technical Skills
    • 5-8+ years of experience in PLM administration, document control, or configuration management.
    • Proven experience building, scaling, or significantly improving PLM systems and change control processes in a production or manufacturing environment.
    • Deep expertise in Arena PLM, including workflow configuration, data modeling, change management architecture, and system optimization.
    • Understanding of how engineering changes impact manufacturing, supply chain, and field execution.
    • Strong systems thinking with the ability to connect product data, engineering workflows, manufacturing processes, and system integrations into a cohesive PLM strategy.
  • Interpersonal & Collaboration Skills
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to drive change control processes end-to-end, from initiation through implementation.
    • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage complex, cross-functional changes involving multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and timelines.
    • Experience operating in fast-paced, evolving environments, building processes and systems that scale with organizational growth.
    • Ability to drive alignment and execution across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Education & Experience
    • Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
    • Preferred: Certification in Arena PLM administration, Change Management, or Configuration Management.
    • Experience working in regulated environments such as construction, manufacturing, or aerospace is a plus.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Competencies
These skills, competencies, and qualifications would set you, as a candidate, apart but are not required for the role.
  • Experience with BIM software for digital model documentation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience facilitating Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Knowledge of California Building Codes or other regulatory frameworks.

Compensation
Offers are based on a combination of experience, skills, and location. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000 annually for Hayward, CA.
