TITLE: 2026 - 27 San Jose Sharks Ice TeamPOSITION TYPE: Part Time, Non-Exempt, SeasonalCOMPANY: Sharks Sports and Entertainment, LLCLOCATION: SAP Center and Tech CU Arena - San Jose, CAREPORTS TO: Senior Director, Engineering and Building Services POSTING DATED: August 2026PAY RANGE: $20.50 per hourPosition OverviewThe San Jose Sharks Ice Team is the co-ed high-energy team that supports the San Jose Sharks at every home game. From the moment the puck drops until the final horn blows the San Jose Sharks Ice Team members are devoted to maintaining excellent ice conditions and energizing the crowd. The responsibilities include on-ice maintenance throughout the game and assisting with on-ice tasks. The Ice Team will be representatives of the organization and may be asked to appear at community events, social outings and viewing parties. This is a seasonal position ending after the final home game (including playoffs).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform regular ice surface maintenance during game intermissions/timeouts, including shoveling, ice repairs, and ensuring a smooth and safe playing surface. Engage with fans during breaks and pre-game activities, representing the San Jose Sharks in a positive and professional manner. Energize Crowd Assist in promotions and intermission activitiesAssist with in-game video feature shoots as neededAssist with special events/marketing promotions as neededParticipate in Ice Team photo opportunities and promotions.Minimum Qualifications:Must be 18 years or older.Available work 75% of Shark home games including Preseason and Playoff games. All scheduling is performance based and is in accordance with Sharks and Barracuda Hockey event schedules.Report times vary from 2 hours before to 1/2 hour before the start of game.Ability to work unusual hours at times based on the event schedule and the requirements of the event. This includes evenings, weekends, late nights, early mornings, and holidays. Strong ice-skating abilities are required; previous experience in figure skating, hockey, or similar disciplines is a plus.Ability to skate quickly and maneuver efficiently on the ice.Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.Comfortable engaging with fans and working in front of large crowds.Familiarity with hockey and an understanding of the game.Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.Must be available to attend required tryouts.
