Position Summary:

We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Outside Sales Representative to lead sales and marketing efforts across the Greater Montreal Area and surrounding region.

This role is designed for a proactive, high-performing sales professional who thrives in a field-based environment, enjoys being on the road, and takes full ownership of their territory.

This is a highly active, customer-facing role where approximately 90% of your time will be spent in the field-meeting with distributors, engineers, municipalities, and contractors, while actively promoting our brand and influencing projects from specification through to completion.

You will serve as the primary face of the company within your territory, working closely with the Sales Manager to identify opportunities, prioritize efforts, and execute strategies that drive sustainable growth.

Success in this role comes from strong market presence, disciplined execution, and the ability to build meaningful relationships that convert into long-term business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent and promote the company brand with professionalism and credibility across your territory
  • Lead both sales and marketing initiatives within the region, ensuring strong visibility and positioning in the market
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, consulting engineers, municipalities, contractors, developers, and end users
  • Execute territory sales and marketing plans aligned with regional and national strategies to achieve targets
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities, projects, and market segments
  • Track and influence projects from early design through to completion
  • Support pricing strategy and negotiate effectively to close opportunities
  • Gain product approvals at municipal levels and coordinate with specification engineers
  • Act as the key point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and consistent follow-through
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team in Laval to coordinate orders, manage timelines, and ensure internal follow-ups are handled efficiently to support a high level of customer experience
  • Deliver product presentations, training sessions, and marketing initiatives to customers and end users
  • Gather competitive intelligence and provide actionable insights to your sales manager
  • Maintain accurate territory documentation, call reports, and expense tracking
  • Plan and prioritize regular territory visits based on project pipeline, forecasts, and sales potential
  • Resolve customer concerns and challenges quickly and professionally, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of successful outside sales experience, preferably within the waterworks, plumbing, and/or electrical supply industries
  • Proven ability to drive both sales and market development within a defined territory
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems effectively and navigate challenges in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and municipal decision-makers
  • Confident presenter with experience delivering sales and product presentations (PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; comfortable using modern sales reporting tools
  • Post-secondary education in sales, marketing, or business required
  • Business or Sales/Marketing degree preferred
