What You Will Do:

  • Area Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business metrics and field services for a defined area.
  • Maintain excellent employee relationships with the operations team. Strive to exceed the expectations of the customers with daily engagement through phone calls and through well-reviewed meetings.
  • Keep a close working relationship with Regional Managers, Executives, and Sales Team.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures to maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Identify needs and organize efficient operation of the warehouse, shipping, and transportation.
  • Organize, motivate, and direct the work activities of Warehouse Personnel and Delivery Drivers.
  • Identify and manage workflow and assign proper work tasks to subordinates.
  • Establish and monitor security procedures and protocols to safeguard warehouse operations and contents.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Plan and monitor deliveries and dispatch customer orders.
  • Oversee stock control and process orders.
  • Oversee inventory Cycle Counts and monitor levels.
  • Fulfill objectives and directions from the Regional Manager.
  • Keep stock control systems up to date.
  • Plan for future capacity requirements.
  • Train staff and monitor their performance and progress.
  • Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to meet productivity targets.
  • Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of warehouse/pump shop experience required.
  • 3 years of management experience highly preferred.
  • Operational knowledge & experience with warehouse operations, DOT, HAZMAT, OSHA, Forklift certification and training, shipping, receiving, distribution, documentation, and compliance.
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and strong analytical skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Basic math and analytical skills.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Solid technical skills to understand computerized measuring machines and metalworking processes.
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
