Job Summary

Stoner's Pizza Joint is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Area Manager to oversee the operations of multiple restaurants within an assigned area. In this role, you’ll lead restaurant teams, drive sales and profitability, protect brand standards, and ensure every location runs safely, efficiently, and with a consistently great guest experience.

Area Manager Responsibilities

Lead & Develop Management Teams

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to General Managers and restaurant management teams.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop managers to strengthen operational leadership and people skills.

  • Set clear expectations, measurable goals, and performance standards for each location.

  • Conduct regular restaurant visits, observations, and management meetings.

  • Evaluate performance, deliver constructive feedback, and ensure consistent follow-through on improvement plans.

  • Recognize high-performing talent and help prepare employees for future leadership opportunities.

  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and retention efforts at the management level.

  • Hold General Managers accountable for both operational execution and financial performance.

Drive Sales & Profitability

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase sales and improve profitability across assigned locations.

  • Monitor performance trends and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Review P&L statements, labor metrics, and other financial reports to pinpoint areas for improvement.

  • Control costs by monitoring food cost, labor cost, inventory, waste, and other operating expenses.

  • Ensure locations are properly staffed and scheduling practices match business needs.

  • Partner with General Managers to set and achieve targets for revenue, profitability, and operational KPIs.

  • Plan and lead action steps for underperforming restaurants, tracking progress until goals are met.

Maintain Operational Excellence

  • Ensure every restaurant consistently meets Stoner's Pizza Joint standards for quality, cleanliness, speed of service, and guest satisfaction.

  • Perform operational evaluations through scheduled visits and frequent observation.

  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and brand standards are followed consistently across the area.

  • Support best practices in inventory management, ordering, food preparation, and waste reduction.

  • Identify operational challenges early and implement practical solutions with the local team.

  • Ensure restaurants are prepared for inspections, audits, and review processes.

Customer Experience

  • Champion a guest-first culture across all locations.

  • Monitor customer feedback and support management teams in resolving concerns professionally and quickly.

  • Ensure service standards are consistently delivered and continuously improved.

  • Help strengthen the brand reputation within each local community.

  • Support teams in handling escalated issues with empathy, accountability, and clear communication.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure restaurants comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including labor, health, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.

  • Ensure managers and team members follow company policies and required procedures.

  • Monitor sanitation and food safety practices and address gaps through corrective action.

  • Respond promptly to compliance issues and support the development of effective improvement plans.

  • Promote a workplace culture focused on safety, professionalism, and accountability.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and review operational and financial reporting to track progress and performance.

  • Communicate restaurant results, challenges, and opportunities clearly to company leadership.

  • Provide regular updates on sales, labor, food costs, staffing, customer feedback, and operational performance.

  • Maintain strong communication and partnership with General Managers and internal stakeholders.

  • Follow up on action plans and ensure improvements are completed and sustained.

  • Support company initiatives, promotions, and operational programs at the restaurant level.

  • Achieve business goals and revenue targets by overseeing execution and performance planning.

  • Recruit, train, and support General Managers, including regular performance evaluations.

  • Support business planning for local growth, including marketing and promotional initiatives.

  • Manage internal and external relationships as needed to support restaurant performance.

  • Ensure products and services meet regulatory, quality, and brand requirements.

  • Escalate and resolve complex guest issues, incident reports, and operational concerns appropriately.

  • Identify service and product opportunities that increase sales potential and guest satisfaction.

  • Drive performance through recognition, reviews, people management, and appropriate follow-up.

  • Collaborate with leadership to implement new programs, policies, promotions, and operational improvements.

  • Assist with planning and execution of staffing, training, and readiness for each restaurant.


REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of management and leadership experience
  • Previous restaurant experience is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business systems
  • Comfort working with POS systems and basic restaurant technology
  • Experience using project management tools or managing multiple priorities at once
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned locations as needed
