Summary
The Area Safety, Health & Environment Manager promotes the Company's IIF culture by ensuring every co-worker returns home safety every night. Is expected to spend a minimum of 70% of time in the field observing and coaching co-workers and other safety professionals on correction of unsafe conditions and behaviors. Reinforces positive behavior through recognition and/or rewards. Serves as a resource to co-workers by answering questions about safety and sharing lessons learned. Uses leading indicators to influence the future direction of safety in the project. Embeds self with project teams and strategically "dives in" using a hands-on approach to improve project safety, quality, and productivity (SQP). Provides safety support to business unit.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Area Safety, Health & Environment Managerwill possess competency in the following areas in order to perform the role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Note that the areas listed are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by co-workers assigned to this role. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.
  • Promotes the Company's IIF Culture by Being a Safety Resource to the BURG
  • Assists in Project Compliance with all Safety Rules and Regulations
  • Responsible for Case Management
  • Directs and/or Oversees the Work of Staff
  • Ensures a Safe Work Environment
  • Participates in Training/Certifications

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of a certificate in a related field, or construction experience with OSHA 500 training certification.
  • Minimum of 7 years of construction experience, or a minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience (including Internship).
