Job Summary

As an Azure Cloud Architect, you will work with our client to design and implement an Azure Cloud environment.

Job Description

We are looking for an Azure Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of a greenfield Azure Landing Zone for a large public sector client. This position will be part-time contract and fully remote . This position is slated to start August 3, 2026 and complete in February 2027.

Only work authorizations not requiring sponsorship now or in the future will be considered. Candidates must be based in the US.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement Azure Landing Zone architecture aligned to enterprise best practices

  • Develop and configure hub and spoke network topology including Azure Firewall NSGs ASGs and Private Endpoints

  • Lead hybrid connectivity design and implementation across cloud and on-prem environments

  • Implement identity and access management solutions including Microsoft Entra ID hardening Conditional Access MFA and SSO

  • Establish identity governance processes and monitor Entra Connect health

  • Design and manage Private DNS Zones and hybrid DNS architecture

  • Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform Bicep and ARM templates

  • Create detailed architecture documentation and provide knowledge transfer to client teams

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification

  • Expertise in Azure Cloud architecture

  • Proven experience designing and implementing Azure Landing Zones

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID security identity governance and access controls

  • Hands-on experience with Azure networking including hub and spoke design Azure Firewall and private connectivity

  • Experience implementing hybrid cloud connectivity solutions

  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform Bicep and ARM templates

  • Ability to produce clear architecture documentation and deliver knowledge transfer

Preferred:

  • Experience working with public sector or municipal clients

  • Familiarity with large scale greenfield cloud implementations

Physical Demands

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal state and local standards

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings etc

Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer utilizing a mouse keyboard and monitor
