Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for assigned jobs after handoff from sales
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scope for completeness
  • Identify gaps, conflicts, or missing information before production begins
  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Work closely with drafting/engineering to ensure approved shop drawings
  • Coordinate material purchasing and track lead times
  • Ensure production schedule aligns with customer deadlines
  • Communicate finish requirements, veneer selections, and special details clearly to production
  • Monitor bottlenecks and proactively adjust
  • Act as primary point of contact after project award
  • Provide updates on schedule, material status, and delivery timing
  • Manage change orders properly — document, price, and get approvals
  • Address issues early before they become problems
  • Track labor and material usage against estimates
  • Monitor gross margin throughout the project
  • Identify risks to profitability and escalate early
  • Approve vendor invoices related to assigned jobs
  • Ensure materials match specifications
  • Verify finish samples and approvals
  • Conduct final review before shipment
  • Protect the company’s reputation by preventing preventable mistakes
Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience managing architectural millwork or wood panel projects
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of millwork production processes
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven
  • Comfortable making decisions without constant supervision
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Experience with veneer panels, high-end residential, yacht interiors, or commercial millwork
  • ERP system experience (JobBOSS, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Field experience or installation knowledge
  • Purchasing or estimating background
  • It is not a paperwork-only desk job
Performance Expectations

  • No missed deadlines due to internal miscommunication
  • No undocumented change orders
  • Production always knows what they are building and when
  • Customers receive proactive communication — not reactive excuses
  • Projects maintain or improve estimated margins
