The Role We Want You For

LJC is seeking an experienced Senior Design Coordinator to lead multidisciplinary design coordination efforts for complex industrial projects. This highly experienced role serves as the central coordination point between clients, project management teams, engineering disciplines, and external partners to ensure fully integrated project delivery.

The Specifics of the Role

  • Lead overall project coordination across multiple engineering and design disciplines.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, project management teams, discipline leads, and consultants.
  • Guide project teams through conceptual design, detailed design, construction support, and project closeout.
  • Interpret PFDs and P&IDs to develop optimized facility layouts.
  • Coordinate process, civil, structural, architectural, and MEPFP design integration.
  • Lead project design reviews and quality control efforts.
  • Drive schedule coordination and communication of critical design decisions.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to manage scope, budget, schedule, and risk.
  • Mentor designers and technical staff while promoting best practices.
    Support project pursuits, presentations, and business development activities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting & Design, Engineering Technology, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
    10+ years of industrial design, process design, or multidisciplinary coordination experience.
  • Strong understanding of process design, equipment layouts, piping systems, and industrial facility operations.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Recap, NavVis, and related tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
  • BIM Certification preferred.
