About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an Architect Designer IV to support the planning, design, and execution of architectural projects associated with power generation and industrial infrastructure facilities. This role focuses on the design and coordination of functional industrial and utility support facilities that serve power generation and energy infrastructure operations. Projects typically include administration buildings, control buildings, maintenance shops, warehouses, guard houses, and other operational support facilities. 

 Working in close collaboration with the Principal Architect, this position serves as a senior technical resource within the architectural team and plays a key role in leading the development of detailed architectural designs, Building Information Models (BIM), and construction document packages from concept through project completion. The Senior Architect Designer is responsible for coordinating architectural production efforts, mentoring junior designers, and collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality, coordinated, construction-ready documents.  The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in industrial architectural design, advanced BIM expertise, exceptional construction document production skills, and the ability to lead architectural production efforts while supporting the overall design vision. 

What You'll Do

Architectural Design Coordination & Production 

  • Collaborate with the Principal Architect in the planning, development, and execution of architectural designs for industrial and commercial facilities supporting power generation, renewable energy, BESS, substations, transmission, and other industrial infrastructure projects. 
  • Serve as the senior architectural production lead responsible for coordinating the development of architectural deliverables from schematic design through construction documentation utilizing AutoCad and Revit. 
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the architectural design team and coordinate project assignments to meet project schedules and deliverable milestones. 
  • Translate architectural concepts, design criteria, and project requirements into coordinated, accurate, and construction-ready drawing packages. 
  • Assist in establishing project-specific drafting standards, detailing approaches, BIM execution strategies, and quality expectations. 

Project Coordination 

  • Coordinate architectural designs with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, process, and instrumentation disciplines. 
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, constructability reviews, and design reviews. 
  • Support the Architect in preparing for client meetings helping to prepare architectural presentations, technical exhibits, renderings, and design documentation as required. 
  • Help coordinate with pre-engineered metal building manufacturers and specialty building suppliers to integrate manufacturer requirements into the architectural design. 
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and daily guidance to architectural designers, BIM specialists, and drafting personnel. 
  • Aid in performing detailed quality reviews (QA) of architectural drawings, BIM models, schedules, and construction documents prior to issuance. 
  • Provide architectural support during construction by responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, evaluating field conditions, and assisting with design clarifications. 
What You'll Bring

Education & Experience 

  • Associate Degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Drafting & Design Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering Technology, or related discipline is a plus. 
  • 15+ years of experience in industrial, EPC projects. 
  • Experience supporting industrial, utility, power generation, manufacturing, infrastructure, mission-critical, or data center projects preferred. 

Technical Expertise 

  • Strong knowledge of facility design, construction methods/documentation, safety/accessibility requirements, site/facility layouts, building codes, and permitting processes.  
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Experience with BIM coordination processes. 
  • Ability to review and coordinate multidiscipline design packages. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods. 
  • Ability to travel periodically for site visits, project meetings, and construction support activities. 
  • Ability to work in industrial and construction environments as needed.
