Job Summary
The Creative Director of Performance Creative is a senior creative leader responsible for defining and evolving the creative direction that drives revenue growth across Ruggable's most critical commercial channels. You will architect the creative system that fuels paid media, creator partnerships, retail campaigns, evergreen studio content, and email , partnering closely with Performance Marketing, Commercial, and Brand teams to ensure every creative dollar works harder. This is a rare opportunity to own both creative vision and commercial outcomes, leading a high-impact team at a brand that sits at the intersection of design and culture.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead creative direction across growth initiatives by establishing a high bar for storytelling, design, writing, relevance, and quality across all outputs.
  • Develop breakout creative work that supports our existing rug assortment and turns individual rugs and collections into franchises with their own recognizable identity and staying power.
  • Own creative strategy across performance marketing creative, wholesale creative, and all evergreen storytelling, ensuring a consistent creative point of view across every channel and partner.
  • Translate business objectives, audience insights, and performance learnings into clear creative direction and breakthrough ideas.
  • Develop concepts and narratives that scale globally while remaining relevant to local audiences and cultural contexts.
  • Partner closely with Growth Marketing to shape briefs, identify opportunities, and define creative approaches that balance experimentation with brand integrity.
  • Serve as the primary creative point of contact for external agencies, production partners, and creators, setting direction, providing feedback, and ensuring work meets Ruggable's standards for craft, effectiveness, and originality.
  • Help evolve creative processes, frameworks, and systems that enable teams to move faster without compromising quality.
  • Identify patterns in testing, audience behavior, and campaign performance to inform future creative decisions and experimentation.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, writers, motion teams, producers, and strategists to bring integrated ideas to life.
  • Balance long term thinking with rapid execution, knowing when a project calls for ambitious creative exploration and when it requires pragmatic decision making.
  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence and act as a trusted creative partner to cross functional stakeholders.
  • Oversee creative output across platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging channels, spanning performance marketing creative and long form YouTube content.
  • Brief, review, and elevate agency work, ensuring it meets brand standards, business objectives, and creative excellence.
  • Partner closely with Social Strategy, Marketing, Product, PR, Wholesale, and E-Commerce teams to deliver integrated campaigns.

What You'll Need to Have:
  • Have 10+ years of experience in creative roles, including experience leading multidisciplinary work across social and growth.
  • Bring demonstrated expertise in social first creative, with a deep understanding of how ideas translate across platforms, audiences, and evolving behaviors. You know what makes work resonate in feed and how to balance native platform instincts with brand objectives.
  • Have experience building creative franchises around existing products, not just launching new ones, and know how to keep an established assortment feeling fresh and culturally relevant.
  • Are a true creative generalist who can think strategically while maintaining strong instincts for execution and craft.
  • Have a portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative judgment and leadership across a variety of channels and formats.
  • Are comfortable using data, testing, and audience insights to sharpen creative thinking without becoming constrained by them.
  • Have experience working with and directing agencies, and know how to get the best out of external partners.
  • Thrive in fast moving environments and don't see speed as a trade off for quality.
  • Are comfortable developing performance marketing creative, wholesale creative, and long form YouTube content, all under one creative vision.

Compensation Details:
  • $180,000 - $220,000 per year base salary
  • An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
  • Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
