Job description

Woolpert is hiring a talented Architectural Designer to join our dynamic Architecture team based in our Virginia Beach, VA office. This position reports to the Architectural Team Leader and will be responsible for performing work on all phases of various public/private projects including design development, preparation of presentation drawings and specifications, design review, coordination and correlation of construction drawings, and more.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare schematics, design development and construction documents. Develop, modify and review production drawings and edit project narratives and specifications.
  • Research materials to determine appropriate selection for project.
  • Plan, coordinate and administer projects from the initial programming stages all the way through to construction administration.
  • Review construction submittals and assist project manager in construction administration.
  • Analyze client problems and develop architectural solutions to those problems.

What You Will Bring:

  • 5-year bachelor's or master's degree in architecture.
  • Architectural License preferred
  • LEED certification is preferred.
  • 3 or more years of job-related experience, preferably in the design of k-12 buildings.
  • Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketchup, and PhotoShop software.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively and confidently with diverse personalities and communication styles, while fostering and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Time management skills.
