Architectural Drafter / Production Technician

Location: Billings, MT
Job Type: Full-Time | In-Office | Hourly

Join a Collaborative Architecture Team

A thriving, fast-paced, and team-oriented architecture firm is seeking an experienced Architectural Drafter / Production Technician to join our office in Billings, Montana. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working collaboratively on a variety of building projects from concept through construction documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual architectural designs into detailed technical drawings for a variety of building projects.
  • Prepare complete Construction Documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software.
  • Coordinate closely with the Lead Architect, Project Manager, and project consultants.
  • Produce technical details using drawings, sketches, building codes, manufacturer specifications, and other project resources.
  • Perform quality control reviews and resolve discrepancies between architectural and engineering disciplines.
  • Assist the Project Manager with overall project coordination and responsibilities.
  • Maintain project schedules and meet established deadlines.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness throughout all project documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional Architectural Production experience required.
  • Associate degree in Architecture, Drafting, or a related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software is required.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InDesign is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of common construction methods, architectural terminology, and building systems.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, life safety requirements, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when preparing and modifying construction drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the project team.
