What does an architect manager do?

An architect manager oversees architectural projects, manages design teams, and ensures that building plans meet client specifications, safety standards, and regulations. They coordinate between clients, engineers, and contractors, often using design software like AutoCAD or Revit, and typically hold relevant certifications such as a Professional Engineer license or architecture license. Their role involves planning, budgeting, and supervising the construction process to ensure project completion on time and within scope.

What are some common challenges an Architect Manager faces when leading multidisciplinary design teams?

An Architect Manager often navigates the complexity of aligning diverse teams—such as architects, engineers, and contractors—toward a unified project vision while balancing technical requirements, client expectations, and budget constraints. Effective communication and conflict resolution are essential, as team members may have differing priorities or perspectives. Additionally, staying updated with evolving building codes, sustainability standards, and new technologies can pose ongoing challenges, making adaptability and continuous learning important traits for success in this role.

The main difference between an Architect Manager and an Architect is that the Architect Manager combines design expertise with leadership and project management responsibilities, overseeing teams and client relations. An Architect primarily focuses on designing buildings and creating plans. Both roles require licensure and architectural credentials, but the Manager role adds managerial duties to the design work.

What is the highest paying architect position?

The highest paying architect position is typically a Principal Architect or Design Director, who oversee large projects and manage teams. These roles often require extensive experience, advanced certifications, and leadership skills, and they can earn significantly higher salaries than entry-level or mid-tier architect roles.

Can I make 100k as a project manager?

As an Architect Manager, earning $100,000 or more is possible depending on experience, location, and the complexity of projects managed. Senior project managers with advanced certifications and strong leadership skills often reach or exceed this salary level, especially in high-demand markets. Salary ranges can vary widely based on industry, company size, and project scope.

What are Architect Managers?

Architect Managers are professionals who oversee architectural projects and teams, ensuring that designs meet client needs, safety regulations, and project specifications. They combine architectural expertise with leadership skills to manage staff, coordinate with clients, and oversee project budgets and timelines. Their role often involves supervising design processes, resolving technical challenges, and collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Architect Managers play a critical role in guiding projects from conception through to completion, ensuring both creative vision and practical requirements are met.

What degree do you need to be an architectural manager?

An architectural manager typically needs a professional degree in architecture, such as a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch.), along with licensure as a registered architect. Relevant experience, leadership skills, and knowledge of design software are also important for this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Architect Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Architect Manager, you need extensive architectural design expertise, project management experience, and a relevant degree such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture, often accompanied by licensure. Familiarity with design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM systems, as well as knowledge of building codes and sustainability standards, is typically required. Leadership, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams are critical soft skills in this role. These skills ensure that complex architectural projects are delivered successfully, meeting client needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.

THERE IS NO VISA SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE
Role Summary
360training is looking for a hands-on data platform leader to help modernize our data architecture and build the foundation for AI, analytics, and trusted reporting.
This role will help design and deliver a modern cloud data platform, with an emphasis on the Azure ecosystem, while bringing strong experience from modern platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, AWS, or similar technologies. The right candidate is both technical and practical: someone who can set architecture patterns, guide engineers, improve legacy data environments, and personally dive into implementation details when needed.
This is not a traditional BI reporting role. We need someone who understands modern data platforms, AI-ready data architecture, medallion or lakehouse design patterns, governance, schema evolution, and how to create reliable data products that can support reporting, analytics, applications, data science, and AI-enabled workflows.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of modern cloud data-platform capabilities, with a primary focus on Azure-based architecture and delivery.
  • Establish practical patterns for ingestion, transformation, medallion-style data layers, data quality, lineage, governance, security, testing, and consumption.
  • Build scalable approaches for onboarding new sources, tables, columns, attributes, and acquired-company data without creating brittle one-off solutions.
  • Create governed data products that can support Power BI, analytics, operational reporting, data science, AI search, summarization, predictive analytics, and future agent-based workflows.
  • Move business logic, metric definitions, and reusable transformations into governed, version-controlled platform layers rather than scattered reports, spreadsheets, scripts, or stored procedures.
  • Partner with BI, analytics, engineering, product, finance, and business teams to improve data trust, reporting reliability, platform usability, and delivery speed.
Required Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, analytics engineering, or cloud data-platform delivery.
  • Hands-on experience building or modernizing cloud data platforms using Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, AWS, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of lakehouse, medallion, data warehouse, and data modeling patterns, including when dimensional modeling is useful and when it should not drive the entire architecture.
  • Experience with tools such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, Power BI, Purview, dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Python, Delta Lake, or similar technologies.
  • Practical experience with schema evolution, metadata-driven ingestion, pipeline automation, data quality checks, lineage, security, access control, documentation, and observability.
  • Experience preparing enterprise data for AI-enabled use cases, such as governed data access, semantic consistency, search, summarization, data science, predictive analytics, or agent-based workflows.
  • Strong SQL skills and the ability to design, review, debug, and optimize data pipelines, models, and transformations.
  • Experience improving legacy data environments with complex pipelines, inconsistent definitions, fragmented reporting logic, Power BI dependencies, stored procedures, or manual processes.
  • Ability to lead technical execution while communicating clearly with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to set standards, guide a small team, and still build, review, troubleshoot, and deliver directly when needed.
We Offer Great Benefits:
  • Competitive salary and annual bonus
  • Flexible time off and company recognized holidays
  • 401k Pension Plan with company match contributions
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
  • Life Insurance- Basic, Voluntary, and AD amp;D
  • Healthcare- Medical, Dental, Vision, and MDLive
  • Flexible spending amp; Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP
