RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Lenexa, KS that is looking for an experienced Data Architect.
Summary:
This individual will play a critical role in establishing a scalable, secure, and AI-enabled data ecosystem that supports business intelligence, reporting, advanced analytics, and future artificial intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have proven experience serving as a Data Architect, with expertise in Microsoft-based data platforms, Medallion Architecture, and modern cloud data solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Design and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture, standards, and best practices
* Lead the development of scalable data platforms leveraging Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric technologies
* Define and implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to support data quality, governance, and analytics
* Architect data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, and reporting environments
* Design and optimize data integration, ingestion, and transformation frameworks
* Partner with business stakeholders, leadership, and technical teams to align data architecture with organizational goals
* Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives by ensuring data platforms are structured to enable machine learning, generative AI, and predictive analytics use cases
* Establish and promote best practices for data governance, security, lineage, metadata management, and data quality
* Develop logical and physical data models to support enterprise reporting and operational needs
* Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for future-state architecture and modernization initiatives
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Analytics teams
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
* 7+ years of experience in data and analytics environments
* 3+ years of experience in a dedicated Data Architect role
* Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures
* Hands-on experience implementing Medallion Architecture and Lakehouse concepts
* Experience enabling AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics initiatives through modern data architecture
* Strong expertise within the Microsoft data ecosystem, including: Microsoft Fabric; Azure Data Factory; Azure Data Lake Storage; Azure Synapse Analytics; Azure Databricks; Azure SQL/SQL Server; Power BI
* Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and enterprise analytics solutions
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Ability to translate business objectives into scalable and sustainable data solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
* Microsoft Azure or Fabric certifications
* Experience with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, or related AI technologies
* Experience establishing enterprise data governance frameworks
* Experience leading cloud modernization or enterprise data transformation initiatives
* Background supporting construction, manufacturing, engineering, or project-based organizations
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
