SPS+ Architects is hiring a Construction Administrator-Field Position for our Scottsdale, AZ office!

ABOUT THE ROLE:  

We’re seeking a self-motivated Construction Administrator to oversee the construction phase of projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and smooth collaboration with architects, contractors, and clients. If you’re detail-oriented, great at problem-solving, and thrive in fast-paced environments, this role is for you! 

THE HEART OF YOUR ROLE: RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage Field Construction Admin: Handle construction start up, complete submittals & RFI Reviews, create and distribute ASI's, review and vet change orders, and complete project closeout tasks for multiple in the field projects.

  • Coordinate Correspondence: Strong understanding of Construction Drawings & Specifications.

  • Submittals & RFI Reviews: Review all project submittals against construction drawings and specifications, and coordinate consultant submissions.

  • Communication: Coordinate with Client, Contractor, Consultant and in-house design team for duration of project.

  • On-Site Admin: Attend OAC meetings, document minutes, perform site inspections to ensure quality and conformance to project drawings and specifications and follow up on action items.

  • QA/QC: Ensure construction quality code and ADA compliance, review building plans & specifications, provide feedback back to in-house design team.

  • Project Closeout: Perform final inspections, punch list, review as-built construction drawings and ensure project manual completeness.

  • Mentorship & Budget Compliance: Track and review project contingency, allowances and usages and Mentor staff on field related construction issues.

  • Site Visits & Reports: Regularly visit job sites, create field reports, photo documentation of current project status ensure compliance, and maintain quality control.

  • Payment Application Reviews: Review for % complete, change order, contingency, allowance verification.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience in Construction Management/Administration including in-field experience. Recent work with an Architectural Design firm preferred.

  • BA or equivalent in Construction Management preferred.

  • Microsoft Office applications proficiency

  • Must be a self-starter and work independently with conflicting deadlines

  • Attentive to detail and precision. Takes pride and ownership in their work.

  • Must have the ability to read and understand Construction drawings (Architectural, Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Plumbing (MPE)).
