Led by Chef Michael Rafidi the concepts which make up The Habibi Project take inspiration from his family’s roots in the Palestine and from the broader range of Arabic cooking, bringing to the table an experience that melds the ancient tradition of the region’s coal-fired cuisine with local, seasonal ingredients and a distinctive culinary voice.
We are a collective of passionate culinary and hospitality professionals dedicated to the creation of singular moments, flavors, and experiences rooted in the traditions of Arabic cooking and generosity.
Over the course of our six years in operation, the our concepts attracted significant critical attention. Our restaurants have earned mention as among the nation's Best New Restaurants in Eater, Robb Report and Esquire, been named Eater DC's Restaurant of the Year, inclusion as one of the best bakeries in Washington, DC by Food & Wine Magazine, have earned One Star Michelin, recognition from the James Beard Foundation, as well as inclusion on the inaugural list of North America's 50 Best Restaurants by World's 50 Best.
