Who we are
Aquila, a group within Constellation Software Inc., one of North America's largest and most respected software companies, invests in category-defining B2B and B2G software businesses globally, providing long-term support and strategic guidance. Emphasys Software has been part of Aquila since 2008.
Operating across five specialized divisions, Emphasys provides mission-critical software that modernizes and streamlines complex processes for housing authorities, lenders, and government agencies in nearly every state. Through both products and services, Emphasys helps house roughly half of the families most in need in the country.
At Emphasys PHA, a division of Emphasys, we develop and support industry-leading software designed specifically for Public Housing Authorities across the United States. As a trusted provider in the affordable housing sector, our solutions help PHAs efficiently manage operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver critical housing services to families and individuals in need. From applicant intake to rent calculations and unit inspections, our platform supports the full lifecycle of public housing programs-empowering agencies to focus on their mission of providing safe, stable, and affordable housing.
Who we need
Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, we are hiring a Sales Account Executive to expand our footprint within the public housing sector. As our new Sales Account Executive, you will drive revenue growth by combining strategic new business development with consultative account expansion across an established client base. You will build relationships with Public Housing Authorities, uncover business challenges, and guide prospects and customers through a consultative sales process that demonstrates the value of our software solutions. Working across both new logo acquisition and current customer growth opportunities, you will own the sales cycle from prospecting through closing while partnering with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition after the sale.
This is a full-time, fully remote position within the United States, with approximately 20% travel to attend client meetings, industry conferences, and trade shows.
What's in it for you
A market with opportunity. You will represent an established and trusted software platform in a specialized market where relationships, industry knowledge, and consultative selling matter. With opportunities to win new Public Housing Authority clients while expanding existing partnerships, you will have the chance to build a territory with significant growth potential.
Own the sale. This is a true consultative sales role where your focus is on understanding client challenges, developing solutions, and closing business. You will own the sales process from prospecting through negotiation, partnering with internal implementation and support teams to ensure a smooth transition once the deal is complete.
The backing to succeed. You will join an experienced organization with a strong reputation in the public housing sector, established customer references, and a collaborative team that supports your success. Combined with a competitive commission structure and meaningful earning potential, you will have the tools, autonomy, and market credibility to build lasting client relationships and drive measurable results.
As our new Sales Account Executive, you will:
  • Generate new business. You will identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities with Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) and related organizations, building a healthy pipeline through prospecting, referrals, networking, industry events, and marketing-generated leads. You will engage decision-makers, uncover business challenges, and guide opportunities through a consultative sales process that results in long-term client relationships.
  • Grow existing accounts. You will develop trusted relationships with current clients, gaining a deep understanding of their evolving priorities and identifying opportunities to expand their use of our software solutions. Through regular engagement and strategic account planning, you will help clients maximize the value of their investment while driving ongoing revenue growth.
  • Lead consultative sales engagements. You will facilitate discovery conversations, deliver tailored product demonstrations, respond to RFPs and proposals, and position solutions that address operational and regulatory challenges within the public housing sector. You will build credibility with stakeholders by connecting client needs to meaningful business outcomes and clearly articulating the value of our platform.
  • Manage your pipeline and performance. You will own your sales pipeline from initial engagement through contract negotiation and close, maintaining accurate forecasts and CRM data while consistently progressing opportunities. You will balance new logo acquisition with account expansion, using data and insights to prioritize opportunities and achieve revenue targets.
  • Collaborate to deliver a seamless client experience. You will work closely with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Professional Services to ensure a smooth transition once deals are closed, while sharing market feedback and customer insights that help shape future product and go-to-market strategies.

You bring:
  • The consultative sales experience. You have experience selling complex B2B software or technology solutions through a consultative sales process. You know how to uncover business challenges, align solutions to client needs, and guide opportunities from initial conversation through negotiation and close.
  • The business development mindset. You are comfortable balancing new logo acquisition with growing existing accounts. You enjoy building relationships, creating opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and referrals, and developing strategic account plans that lead to long-term growth.
  • The communication skills. You are a confident communicator who can build credibility with stakeholders at every level of an organization. Whether leading discovery conversations, delivering product demonstrations, responding to RFPs, or presenting proposals, you communicate with clarity, professionalism, and purpose.
  • The ability to navigate complex sales cycles. You are organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales cycle. You maintain accurate forecasts, prioritize effectively, and use CRM tools to manage your pipeline and consistently drive results.
  • The industry knowledge. Experience working with Public Housing Authorities, affordable housing, government agencies, or highly regulated industries is an asset. You understand the importance of building trust, navigating complex buying environments, and helping organizations address operational and regulatory challenges through technology.
