Aquatics Manager

The Aquatics Manager is a year-round full-time position whose primary responsibility is to assist the Director of Aquatics and Sports & Recreation with the development, implementation, and supervision of all aquaticโ€™s programs and staff. This role serves as the second-in-command for the aquatics department Holland Family Building, supporting daily operations, staff leadership, and program delivery to maintain a safe and engaging aquatic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with scheduling and management of aquatics programs including swim lessons, swim team, aquatic fitness classes, and camps.
  • Provide direct service instruction (up to 30 hours per week) including swim lessons, lifeguarding, training courses, and other aquatics programs.
  • Lead lifeguard staff during emergencies and conduct monthly lifeguard in-service trainings.
  • Monitor lifeguard performance and ensure compliance with safety procedures and facility policies.
  • Manage staff scheduling, shift coverage, and supply ordering.
  • Enforce pool rules and ensure safe facility operations.
  • Perform routine pool maintenance checks including chlorine and pH readings and monitoring pool temperature.
  • Assist with facility setup, cleanup, and operational adjustments due to weather, staffing, or programming needs.
  • Travel between Holland and Benderson facilities as required.

Qualifications:

Required Certifications (American Red Cross):

  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
  • Lifeguard Instructor
  • Lifeguard Certification
  • First Aid
  • CPR/AED

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in aquatics programming, lifeguard supervision, or aquatic facility operations preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Accrisoft experience is a plus
