Job description

Position Summary  

The Quality Manager position directs the activities and staff in quality assurance implementation  and maintenance. The Quality Manager also has responsibility for the development and  execution of quality functions to ensure product compliance to applicable customer and regulatory  specifications.  

Other responsibilities include coordinating the application of the quality systems with other  functions and locations within the Company, as well as interfacing with customers and regulatory  agencies.  

Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:  

• Directly responsible for quality activities and certifications for facility.  

• Maintains internal audit functions to meet the requirements of aforementioned standards as  well as all customer specific requirements.  

• Coordinates quality system activities with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, sales,  marketing, technical services and suppliers.  

• Facilitates supplier development activities to ensure compliance to industry standards.  • Promotes/coordinates actions for customer satisfaction improvement.  • Acts as a liaison between facility and customers on quality related and customer satisfaction  issues.  

• Analyzes defect data, facilitates root cause identification, prioritizes and leads corrective  action program to maximize rate of process improvement.  

• Supports staff in Pre-Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and submissions.  • Provides guidance to staff for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and  manufacturing feasibility evaluation.  

• Reviews overall customer ratings on a monthly basis to include correcting rating errors and/or  improve company performance (preferred/green supplier status.)  

• Reviews all customer specific and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.  • Leads, directs, monitors and coaches quality assurance department employees to strive for  excellence.  

• Works as member of facility management team to accomplish collective objectives.  • Other projects as assigned by supervisor. 

Qualifications-Education & Experience  Required:

 • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with at least a high school diploma/GED
• At least 5 year’s progressive quality experience in the automotive industry including experience in working with regulatory agencies
• At least 5 years of work experience in a supervisory position
• Hands on experience in structured problem solving methodologies (examples: APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, ISO17025, TS16949)
• Strong communication and leadership skills required to support and/or direct both internal and external customers
• Ability to effectively provide overall direction of quality assurance process
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills
