Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Application Engineer to support HVAC and thermal system applications for commercial vehicle and off-highway customers.


This role is ideal for candidates with around 2-4 years of experience who are looking to grow in a hands-on engineering environment. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and support customer programs from concept through validation.


This position is based in Morton, IL, with a hybrid work model and occasional travel depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

Support customer programs by assisting in HVAC and thermal system application development

Review RFQs and help prepare technical solutions under guidance from senior engineers

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design, prototyping, testing, and validation

Assist in product development and performance evaluation of heat exchangers and HVAC systems

Support documentation such as test reports, DVP&R, and engineering changes

Participate in internal meetings and customer discussions as needed

Learn and apply industry standards and engineering best practices


Requirements

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Thermal, or related fields)

Professional Experience

3+ years of experience in application engineering, thermal systems, or HVAC-related roles

Experience in automotive, commercial vehicles, or off-highway equipment preferred

Skills & Competencies

Basic understanding of HVAC systems or thermal management principles

Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo, etc.)

Exposure to APQP, FMEA, or DVP&R is a plus

Additional Skills:

Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills

Good communication and teamwork ability
