They ensure that products meet customer requirements by coordinating cross-functional teams, conducting risk assessments, and implementing quality control measures. Their role includes creating process flow diagrams, control plans, and conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | QUALITY ENGINEER | Tulsa, OK area

An established manufacturer supplying industrial customers across the U.S. is actively growing following significant department investment, and they are adding an experienced Quality Engineer to take real ownership of corrective action, supplier quality, and new product launch quality activities. This is a hands-on role for someone who has done the work — not managed reports of someone doing the work — and who can function independently.

  • $75-$90K, depending on experience
  • Full suite of benefits:  Health, Dental, Vision
  • 401(k) with up to 4% company match, Vacation/PTO
  • Monday–Friday with flexible start times (7:00 AM to 8:00 AM range)
  • Tulsa, OK area

Overview:

  • Own corrective action from initiation through verified closure, using 8D methodology, coordinating internally and with suppliers and customers as needed
  • Support APQP activities for new product launches — define quality requirements and ensure they are met before production begins
  • Conduct supplier audits and monitor supplier performance; build supplier quality capabilities where gaps exist
  • Apply metrology and statistical methods (SPC, MSA) to identify and correct quality control issues on the production floor
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to support inspection and measurement activities
  • Maintain PPAP documentation and coordinate the APQP process for new and revised parts
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives targeting product quality, process efficiency, or workplace safety
  • Support the Quality Manager and stand in for that role when needed

Preferred Skills/Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
  • 4+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated decision-making responsibility
  • Working knowledge of AIAG core tools: APQP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA
  • Experience working within an IATF 16949-certified quality system
  • Hands-on experience with 8D corrective action methodology
  • Experience in extrusion, compression molding, injection molding — strongly preferred but not required; broader manufacturing background considered
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Familiarity with applicable standards: ASME, ANSI, ASTM, SAE, RMA
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) — preferred
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt — preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn ERP and document control systems
