Job Summary/Basic Function
STEM Education Apprentices will be placed with select classrooms, teachers, and/or community partners to assist with and experience public education experiences in science and math. Duties vary according to placement but could include assisting with labs, aiding classroom instruction, one-on-one tutoring, co-planning, assessment, or other experiences as needed. Must be a Weber State student; preference given to students with interest in math or science education, in teaching majors, or in the Propel (weber.edu/propel) program
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated interest and background in science or mathematics. Preference will be given to those who are considering possibilities in science or math teaching (though not necessarily a declared teaching major). Propel teacher interns may also be engaged with other aspects of the program, including potential planning meetings and other science and math education events.
