Job Responsibilities:

Massiv Die-Form, a division of Magna International, designs and builds medium to large cast automotive and hot stamping dies. Massiv Die-Form is proudly committed to manufacture products of the highest quality, reliability, maintainability and durability for the global automotive market through skilled and dedicated people focused on total customer satisfaction, ongoing protection of the environment and the profitable well-being of our company.

Hourly Rate: $24.97

Vacancy Status: Immediate Open Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Participate in classroom training sessions to gain theoretical knowledge of toolmaking.
  • Work collaboratively with senior toolmakers and other team members to complete projects.
  • Document work processes and maintain accurate records of tasks performed.. Complete tasks and assignments within the trade under the direction of a Tool & Die Maker.
  • Complete theoretical training as per government regulation and pass required exams.
  • Complete training standards as per government guidelines.
  • Be familiar and comply with Massiv Die-Form's Apprenticeship Program Policy & Procedures Guideline.
  • Responsible for applicable QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist toolmakers in production run.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Responsible to carry out duties for Health, Safety, and Environment in accordance with the HS&E Agreement for Employees - Addendum
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required and assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Rotating shift work and overtime required.
  • Day/Overnight travel required

SPECIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be eligible for a work and study program
  • Good communication skills, attendance, and performance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing and machining.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working with machinery.
  • Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools.
  • Good communication skills, attendance and performance required.
  • Previous tooling/machine shop experience an asset.
  • Crane/Forklift experience an asset.
