Job description

BMW Toronto is actively seeking a 2nd- or 3rd-Year Apprentice Technician for a full-time position.

Job Function

The responsibility of an Apprentice Technician is to assist licensed technicians in performing vehicle repairs and maintenance in accordance with all dealership and manufacturer standards, under the supervision of a licensed Technician.

Specific Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a licensed Technician, you will:

  • Assist in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing vehicles to accepted quality standards.
  • Examine vehicles to determine whether additional safety or service work is required.
  • Advise the Technician or Service Advisor immediately if additional work is required, if the work outlined is unnecessary, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time frame.
  • Communicate with the Service Team and Parts Department to obtain required parts.
  • Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Ensure customers vehicles are returned clean.
  • Account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
  • Achieve the required level of performance as dictated by shop objectives.
  • Produce high-quality work that demonstrates pride in workmanship.
  • Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
  • Participate in required training and meetings, and stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Report any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or its customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
