Job description

Position Summary
The Welder Apprentice (1st Shift) supports production operations by learning to weld metal components using MIG and TIG welding equipment. This role assists with preparing materials, operating welding tools, and inspecting completed work while following established safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in welding metal components using MIG or TIG welding equipment
  • Prepare materials by cleaning, positioning, and securing workpieces
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, including adjusting amperage and voltage settings
  • Learn to strike arcs and guide welding tools to create proper welds
  • Inspect welds for quality, including bead size and depth of fusion
  • Repair cracks, holes, and damaged components as needed
  • Support assembly by positioning, clamping, and tacking parts together
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and welding standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
