Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Lead Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, service, and repair of complex electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, infant protection, intrusion detection, and perimeter detection systems.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
  • Install low-voltage security systems in new construction and existing commercial environments.
  • Install and terminate end devices, including badge readers, motion detectors, glass break sensors, magnetic locks, door strikes, IP and analog cameras, and camera lenses.
  • Dress and terminate access control and security head-end panels within IDF rooms, including light conduit work as needed.
  • Work with various systems, including but not limited to Software House, Genetec, Hugs, Pro-Watch, and Avigilon.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on access control and video systems and provide updates to management.
  • Provide daily direction, oversight, and training to Apprentice Installation Technicians.
  • Assist with technical support issues and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Regional Manager or TSi leadership.
EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial security systems installation or service.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience programming access control and video systems.
  • Networking experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, amp; COMPETENCY
  • Possess the minimum factory and/or internal security system certifications required to work independently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in systems applications and Microsoft, Microsoft Office with Microsoft Windows and other related computer applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other related software applications.
  • Basic IT and networking knowledge, including best practices related to IP-based systems.
  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet and other business-related software applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including responsiveness and urgency in addressing customer needs.
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and independently while demonstrating proficiency in systems installed within the assigned service area.

DRIVER’S LICENSE

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is primarily performed at client locations and requires regular physical activity, including but not limited to walking, standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
The employee must regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift objects exceeding 50 pounds. Duties require the use of hands and tools to manipulate, install, and disassemble equipment and systems.
The position may involve exposure to electrical wiring, electricity, construction environments, and other related hazards. Frequent driving and travel are required.
