Our Apprenticeship Program
The Aerospace Technician Apprenticeship is a structured, multi-year registered apprenticeship program that combines on-the-job training at Ontic's Chatsworth facility with related technical instruction through an approved college partner.
Throughout the program, apprentices progressively build technical knowledge and hands-on skills related to electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies used in aerospace applications. Apprentices rotate through defined production areas, working under the guidance of experienced trainers and mentors while developing the competencies required for long-term success at Ontic
What You'll Be Doing
As an Apprentice - Aerospace Technician, you will:
  • Complete a structured two-year rotation within the Operations organization, building knowledge from basic to complex electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Attend college coursework as required by the registered apprenticeship program and successfully complete all related instruction, coursework, and exams
  • Rotate through defined production cells, gaining exposure to multiple manufacturing processes
  • Shadow experienced technicians and trainers to learn production build processes
  • Progressively complete designated production builds:
  • With trainer oversight
  • Independently, once qualified
  • Follow all quality standards, work instructions, and documented procedures
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to learning
  • Uphold Ontic's values and contribute positively to the team culture

Education / Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to meet the eligibility requirements of a State of California Registered Apprenticeship Program
  • Willingness to attend required college coursework in conjunction with on-the-job training
