Kia Yorkdale is looking for an Apprentice Service Technician!

We seek a highly motivated individual energized by challenges and driven to learn and grow. Our Apprentices are responsible for working closely with the rest of the service team to learn and execute activities as assigned by the Shop Foreman or other Service Technicians. Apprentices should be motivated to learn, be open to feedback and demonstrate a positive attitude towards growth and development.

Job Duties:

  • Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing vehicle issues and performing repairs.
  • Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
  • Learn to inspect and test vehicles to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines when handling tools and equipment.
  • Learn to document work performed and maintain accurate records.
  • Attend training sessions and classes to further develop technical skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in delivering vehicles to customers and providing basic instruction on vehicle maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman and/or Service Manager.

Successful Candidates Possess:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrolled or completed a vocational or technical training program in automotive technology is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), as well as standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Service Technician License Apprenticeship Program registration.
