Smalling Masonry, a specialty construction company that has been serving the Indianapolis area for over 15 years, is seeking passionate and motivated apprentices to join our team!

We are a specialty construction company focusing on Fireplaces and Chimneys. Our growth has created several apprenticeship positions. Our apprenticeship program is designed to provide you with the necessary training and education to become a skilled Journeyman technician. And the best part? Earn While You Learn! You will work alongside experienced technicians, learning the ropes of the trade while gaining hands-on experience!

Our goal for our Apprentices is to train and teach you to be able to move into a Lead Position as early as 18 months! Once certifications are earned and training is complete, you will increase that pay! Our Leads can quickly begin earning $52,000+ per year! Your career path will be determined by your desire and accomplishments. Candidates must have a desire to learn about our industry, enjoy working outdoors, and the opportunity to advance within our company. This program is designed to train you in all areas of fireplace and chimney needs from gas service technician, building a chimney, flashing, inspections, appliance installation, repair and more.

To be considered for the apprenticeship program, you must have at least one year of basic construction experience, including but not limited to framing, roofing, brickwork, painting, gutters, plumbing, or appliance installation/repair. You should also be comfortable working outdoors, on roofs, and climbing ladders and scaffolds. A valid driver's license with a clean three-year driving history, reliable transportation to and from work, and passing a drug screen and background check are required.
