KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Engineering Technician III, to join our team. This position is onsite in Ladson, SC. This is an SCA position. 
Established in July 2013, KAIROS, Inc. is a growing Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) specializing in Life Cycle Program Management, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Logistics and Sustainment, Enterprise Platforms and AI, and Additive Manufacturing services focused on optimizing customers’ program performance and mission through proven methodologies and ethical practices. This position will perform engineering analysis, gather data from electronics equipment, conduct testing and updates to test equipment, support the design and development of new systems or updates to existing components, subunits, or models, and conduct preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
Primary Duties:
  • Design, preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
  • Individuals shall have notable experience performing one or a combination of the following duties:
    • Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapting standard equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
    • Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
    • Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modification in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and recording test data.
    • Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation, and assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts.
    • Developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
  • An individual shall be capable of performing assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents.
  • Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently.
  • Review work for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong customer relations, analytics, and documentation skills

  • In lieu of an associate’s degree, formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications AND five (5) years of practical experience to include design and preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings may be substituted
  • In lieu of formal electronics training, four-year electronics apprentice program AND five (5) years of practical experience to include design and preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings may be substituted
  • In lieu of a four-year electronics apprentice program, a High School diploma or GED AND seven (7) years of practical experience to include design and preparation and modification of engineering documents and drawings may be substituted

Clearance:
This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.
Compensation:
While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $18.75 an hour to $20.00 an hour. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation. 
This position would be entitled to Health and Welfare (H&W) benefits at a max rate of $4.93 per hour worked up to 40 hours per week.  H&W rate is subject to change based on selected company benefits and contract wage determination.
