The Group provides trading and investment solutions to both producer and consumer clients worldwide.
Position Summary:
Gerald Metals, based in Stamford, CT, is seeking a Risk Analyst to work within the Risk team on the trading floor. The candidate should be extremely detail oriented and understand the importance of accuracy in the core functions of this role. The Risk Analyst is responsible for reconciling, analyzing, and reporting the middle office P&L and risk position. The ideal candidate will possess the interpersonal skills to work well with all levels and personalities as the role requires working closely with Traders, Trading Assistants, as well as Accounting, Distribution, and Treasury Depts.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Daily reconciliation of Risk/Trading system P&L to trader's P&L
โ€ข Performs analysis to ensure accuracy of P&L
โ€ข Identifies and reconciles discrepancies that impact the P&L and posts adjustments and/or reserves
โ€ข Understands and reports P&L and MTM attributes and movements
โ€ข Runs EOD revaluation processes
โ€ข Reconciles, ensures accuracy of, and reports Risk position
โ€ข Validates market valuation
โ€ข Monitors and ensures compliance of control policies and procedures
โ€ข Fields and responds to inquiries from management, traders, and external auditors
โ€ข Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
โ€ข 3 - 5 years of experience preferably in trading/commodity industry
โ€ข Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
โ€ข Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong proficiency in Excel
โ€ข Extremely accurate, detail oriented, and organized
โ€ข Ability to liaise and work well with all levels and personalities
โ€ข Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment and often in stressful situations
โ€ข Availability to work extended hours as necessary
โ€ข Ability to work in office 5 days a week
