Job description

Job Description:

An Instructor will act as the point of contact for the guest’s driving experience to include check in and out, assigning cars and guiding them around the tracks in a safe manner to ensure they have a comfortable and fun driving experience.

Essential Functions

  1. Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  2. Ensure guests read COVID-19 information
  3. Provide information about cars, driving experiences, ridealongs, etc. including customer promotions
  4. Ensure guests wear masks, gloves and sanitize hands before their driving experience
  5. Disinfect helmet with spray, place on dryer rack and place in helmet room practicing enhanced disinfecting
  6. Wash towels as needed
  7. When Instructing Trucks
    1. Ensure water truck has sufficient diesel for the day
    2. Warm up truck and check fluids
    3. Ensure raptors have sufficient gas for the day
    4. Check track for rocks and ensure track is watered and kept at suitable conditions
    5. Assist with briefing customers for their experience on how to drive the trucks and coach them during their experience
    6. Drive trucks for guest ridealong experiences when needed
    7. Upsell guests to purchase additional driving experiences with same and different cars and trucks
    8. At the end of the day pull and fuel vehicles, clean trucks practicing enhanced disinfecting techniques and Raptors (inside and outside) and then park in their appropriate spot
  8. When Briefing
    1. Show briefing video to guests as needed
    2. Follow provided briefing script and informs guests of track layout, driving technique, passing, speed limits
    3. Answer and discuss any guest concerns regarding the safety of the track and cars and trucks
    4. Ensure each guest initials, signs and dates each Acknowledgement Form before having a driving experience
    5. Stock all necessary supplies for Briefing Room including waivers, pens, clipboards, etc.
    6. Practice enhanced disinfecting to include washing hands, cleaning seats, chairs, reading, clipboards and pens
  9. All other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit in a race/sports car for extended periods of time; to run; to talk and hear; to stand; to walk; to site; use hands; to see and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to regularly drive a truck of speeds up to 50 miles per hour or on a designated track and be able to withstand up to 2 G forces of motion. The employee is required to regularly drive a truck around a designated track and jump with the vehicle up to 10 feet in the air for a designated number of laps each day. Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds; be able to work in outside temperatures of up to 120 F in summer and 30 F in winter and regularly hear loud, repetitive noise.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position is part time and regularly requires early morning, late night and weekend shifts.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Valid Driver’s License
  3. Two years of off road driving experience
