Painter – VA Medical Center (Dallas, TX)

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time Contract, 1-Year Term

Location: Dallas VA Medical Center, 4500 S. Lancaster Rd, Dallas, TX 75216

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Federal holidays off. No nights, no weekends.

Job Description:

We're hiring skilled Painters to support facilities maintenance, new construction, and renovation projects at the Dallas VA Medical Center. This is steady, daytime work with predictable hours — no weekends, no late nights — supporting the men and women who keep the hospital running for our veterans.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform general painting for new construction, remodel projects, and renovations across offices, wards, corridors, dining halls, living quarters, and shop buildings
  • Paint and refinish furniture, wood, and metal — desks, cabinets, chairs, operating room and laundry equipment
  • Perform glazing and caulking of windows and air-conditioning equipment; cut and install glass
  • Coordinate with the interior designer on wall coverings and paint color selections
  • Install vinyl wall coverings, hang paper, tape and bed seams
  • Cut stencils, paint signs, and blend/mix colors
  • Prepare surfaces (spackling, joint compound, filling, shaping) and prepare/mix coating materials
  • Assist with marking streets and cleaning/caring for equipment
  • Report daily to the VA facility contact for work assignment and progress updates

What You Need:

  • OSHA certification
  • Own PPE: arc-rated or natural fiber long pants and long-sleeve shirt, steel-toed work boots (ANSI Z41.1), hearing and eye protection
  • Ability to pass E-Verify and required federal facility background/access screening
  • Reliable, punctual, able to work independently and coordinate with facility staff

Why This Job:

  • $30.00/hour — competitive with top-of-market Dallas-area painter pay
  • Consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule, no weekend or night work
  • Stable 1-year assignment supporting a mission that matters

To Apply: Send resume showing experience and any other certifications to Kevin@allmedstaffinginc.com

This position supports a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs facilities contract and requires compliance with federal background screening and site access requirements.
