Job Summary:
Avista is dedicated to maintaining a safe and reliable environment for its employees and customers. They are seeking a Journeyman Network Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network equipment and connections to ensure system reliability and safety.
Responsibilities:
• Installs, commissions, maintains and removes equipment, cables and connections on the Avista production Networks.
• Investigates and facilitates mitigation of radio frequency interference complaints.
• May work collaboratively with Engineering and other departments or employees to develop, configure, troubleshoot, install, and complete other related tasks on the Network Systems.
• Production and/or lab environment testing may be performed on network components.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Successful completion of a Network Technician apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience in the installation and maintenance of network equipment, cables, and connections.
• Commercial Class A driver’s license.
• Washington State Low Voltage Communication license or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of placement in classification.
• Demonstrate work management skills.
• Excellent communication skills in a cross-functional team environment.
• Demonstrate analytical problem solving skills.
• Process oriented with a clear understanding of the value delivered by maintaining technology platforms up to the current standards.
