The Role: RIG Electrical Apprentice I
As a RIG Electrical Apprentice I, you assist in the installation of electrical infrastructure in accordance with Switch SUPERNAP standards. You support AC power, DC power, and grounding installations under the direction of licensed electricians. This is an entry-level role designed to build foundational electrical skills in a mission-critical data center environment.
What You'll Do
  • Assist with installation of electrical receptacles, junction boxes, and related hardware.
  • Support conduit installation up to 4 inches.
  • Assist with pulling and installing wire according to electrical drawings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Observe site conditions and report safety hazards or concerns.
  • Maintain assigned tools and equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and site protocols.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks in support of the electrical team.
  • After a 90-day probationary period, may assist with live equipment work under 100 percent supervision and in compliance with NFPA 70E and internal safety standards.

What You'll Bring
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Active enrollment in a first-year electrical apprenticeship program.

  • Ability to read and interpret written and diagram-based instructions.
  • Understanding of basic construction safety practices.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift at least 50 pounds.

Preferred
  • Prior experience with electrical wiring or construction environments.
