Job description

PURPOSE: Design, build, rework, maintain, repair and troubleshoot all forms of tooling (including dies,tools, gauges, fixtures, and molds).

[Primarily 1st Shift with an occasional rotation to 2nd shift for Production Support every 8-12 weeks]

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Interact with QA, production, R&D, manufacturing, and maintenance to provide solutions.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of tool modifications, repair, preventative maintenance and individual workperformed throughout the shift.

  • Reworking tools and fixtures as needed, or machining new ones to manufacturing specs and requirements

  • Capable of creating a repeatable setup and working to tolerances of +/-.0002" routinely.

  • Coordinate work assigned through various auxiliary work centers and equipment as required

  • Occasionally assist operators and maintenance with machine or processing issues.

  • Performing manual machining, including setup and operation

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Completed an approved Mold Maker or Tool and Die Maker state apprenticeship program or demonstrated the ability to perform the aforementioned tasks.

  • Proficiently operate all common machining equipment, mills, lathes, grinders, etc.

  • Ability to troubleshoot machine tools, fixtures, dies and molds, perform rework as needed, or machine new components to manufacturing specs and requirements

  • Ability to perform manual machining, CNC machining or both, including setup and operation; Program editing is a plus

  • Expertise at reading and understanding blueprints, CAD drawings and production specifications

You should be proficient in:

  • Tool/Die/Mold Repair Skills
  • Tool/Die/Mold Setup Experience
