We are seeking an experienced Manager, Facilities, to manage and elevate our facilities' function during an exciting phase of growth and operational expansion.

 

Position Overview

The Manager, Facilities will serve as the facilities leader for retail in North America, overseeing all core repair & maintenance duties while directly managing facilities' processes, preventative maintenance, and program development. This is a hands-on role responsible for both strategy and execution. The ideal candidate is comfortable building scalable processes and rolling up their sleeves to manage tactical deliverables, maintenance emergencies, and day-to-day ticket management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems. Manage service contracts and vendors to ensure high-quality services are delivered
  • Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality and safety
  • Ensure all facilities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Implement facilities training programs and regularly conduct inspections to identify and resolve potential hazards
  • Develop and implement long-term facilities plans that align with organizational goals. Participate in space planning, renovations, and expansions as necessary
  • Establish and maintain emergency response plans, including after-hours coverage strategy, evacuation procedures, and disaster recovery strategies. Coordinate drills and ensure all team members are trained
  • Promote energy-saving practices and sustainable operations. Identify and implement environmentally responsible initiatives
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with service providers, contractors, and suppliers. Ensure service level agreements are met and performance is evaluated regularly
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities-related inquiries. Communicate effectively regarding facilities issues, solutions, and developments
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of lease terms, common area maintenance and blueprints
  • Receive, verify, and process invoices/payments for services rendered within payment terms and accounting procedures
  • Develop and enforce facilities processes, procedures and policies with vendors, trades, sites and leaders. Adhere to department and company standards, operating procedures and safety requirements
  • Measure and report out key performance metrics for expenses, response time, ticket resolution, and call center indicators
  • Manage complex projects including disaster recovery, renovations, relocations, new store openings, and special assignments
  • May have one or more direct reports to hire, coach, lead and develop.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management or a related field
  • Strong understanding of facilities maintenance, building systems, and safety regulations
  • Proficient in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certifications such as Facilities Management Professional (FMP) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) are a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a lean environment
  • Ability to influence across all levels of the business
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of integrity and discretion
