Job Description
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Shop Foreman that will be responsible for coordinating crews, preparing, handling, and supplying materials to be used by other crafts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of laborers and their assigned roles
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, using knowledge of equipment capacities and assigned personnel
  • Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion
  • Analyze and resolve work problems
  • Maintain time records
  • Make cost estimates for contracts
  • Use logical step-by-step procedures in work; plan work and solve problems; make decisions based on measurable information; may operate machinery
  • Provide work direction to laborer I, II, Journeyman, Apprentice, and Helpers
  • Work according to standard, detailed instructions and established, well-defined procedures
  • Determine work method from alternatives
  • Work under broad assignments
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum three (3) years related experience preferred
  • Must possess union specific training
  • Current driver's license
  • Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; ability to work with machinery such as forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
  • Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
  • *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
