Crane Data Centers Inc. (“Crane”) is seeking a Technical Program Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Crane’s data center construction and delivery initiatives throughout the project lifecycle. You will work with C-level executives, key technical leaders, and our trusted partners to create, implement, and manage cross functional programs, tools, and processes to provide quality data center capacity to our customers. We are seeking applicants to work out of our San Francisco headquarters, but will consider exceptional applicants in other markets.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for leadership, oversight, and delivery of projects within Crane’s new build data center portfolio. You will ensure due diligence, design, construction, and applicable operations work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your success will be measured against the cost, schedule, quality, and sustainability targets of these development projects in alignment with Crane’s corporate goals.

  • Create, implement, and manage a portfolio of data center processes and programs that enhance Crane’s ability to provide data center capacity to customers.

  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships and program teams to efficiently deliver on shared goals.

  • Develop, implement and use key performance indicators and business goals to drive corporate and team outcomes.

  • Manage shared resources and balance competing priorities to progress top-line business objectives.

  • Communicate project risks, delays, and obstacles to Crane leadership and appropriate stakeholder groups, and present justifiable solutions and action plans to correct, overcome, or mitigate issues.

  • Use your industry experience to support Crane’s evaluation and selection of key partners, including Architecture and Engineering consultants, General Contractor (GC) partners, and other key third parties critical to data center development.

  • Leverage experience to evaluate, recommend, and implement tools to streamline reporting and tracking of KPIs, goals, program statuses, and other important data.

Executive Management

  • You will work with Crane’s leadership team to develop top-line company goals and priorities. You will be responsible for communicating these plans to the company organizations you support, and will ensure corporate goals and objectives are reflected in team and group goals.

  • You will provide organizational leadership and represent Crane’s development activities to Crane’s C-Suite and cross-functional development teams.

  • You will maintain the highest level of professionalism and personal integrity in making decisions, and embody, demonstrate, and live out Crane’s company values.

  • You will promote Crane as a thought leader in design, safety, sustainability, construction, and operations best practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience in data center construction.

  • Proven track record of indirectly managing hybrid teams of consulting, contract, and other partners to successful project outcomes.

  • Deep expertise in the execution and delivery of complex and time-sensitive projects, particularly on projects or programs with ambiguous requirements, incomplete data, and competing stakeholders.

  • Leadership and management of large-scale programs.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience establishing trusted relationships and leading projects across a wide range of time zones and geographic locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical program management experience with a focus on data centers

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Experience working for a data center hyperscaler, large colocation provider, or leading data center-focused engineering firm, architecture group, or general contractor (GC).

  • Knowledge of large-scale facility electrical and mechanical systems in mission critical environments.

  • Knowledge of the data center development process - site selection through data center operations - and a deep understanding of development phase interfaces and independencies.

  • Strong relationships with leading data center design consultants, GCs, vendors, and equipment providers.

  • Track record of scaling a design, construction, or operations team at a data center hyperscaler, leading consulting group, or GC focused on data center development.
