Job description

Job Title: Key Account Manager, Energy
Location(s): Remote, (West Coast)
Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000 Before Commissions and Bonus
About this position:
Advantech is on the search for an experienced Key Account Manager to drive growth within the energy sector. In this role, you will develop and expand strategic relationships across utilities, renewable energy developers, battery energy storage system (BESS) integrators, and critical power infrastructure OEM providers, positioning Advantech’s embedded computing, IPC solutions and Industrial networking solutions at the heart of their automation and monitoring architectures. If you bring a consultative sales approach and a solid network in the energy space, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for utility operators, renewable energy developers, BESS integrators, and critical power infrastructure OEM customers.
  • Engage engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders to position Advantech’s embedded computing, IPC, Industrial networking and edge solutions in alignment with customer automation and digitalization roadmaps.
  • Build and maintain multi-level relationships within strategic accounts while identifying and developing energy-focused system integrators and regional distribution partners.
  • Establish joint business plans with channel partners and enable them through product training, pipeline alignment, and collaborative selling activities.
  • Identify and pursue scalable opportunities across targeted energy verticals; develop repeatable engagement models across OEMs, integrators, and ecosystem partners.
  • Monitor competitive activity, regulatory developments, and energy market trends to inform territory and go-to-market strategy.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and opportunity tracking in CRM; collaborate cross-functionally with product management, application engineering, and channel sales teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4 - 6+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in the energy sector, power electronics or adjacent industrial technology markets.
  • Demonstrated experience working with utilities, renewable energy integrators, BESS manufacturers, or critical power solution providers.
  • Working knowledge of embedded computing, industrial PCs, edge devices, or automation hardware as applied to energy or power management applications.
  • Experience managing both direct accounts and channel/partner relationships.
  • Proven track record of revenue growth and territory expansion.
  • Strong communication skills with a consultative, solution-oriented approach to selling.
  • Ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with energy-adjacent verticals such as grid modernization, EV charging infrastructure, microgrid systems, or industrial UPS applications.
  • Prior experience in key account development or Tier 1 OEM account management within a technology hardware or energy automation environment.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, energy management systems (EMS), IEC 61850, DNP3, Industrial networking or other utility communication protocols.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, energy systems, business, or related discipline
