Summary
Under the guidance of the Applications Manager, the Applications Specialist is responsible for the development of customer applications, mounting and verification of tooling, performing acceptance testing, providing customer support on new/existing applications, assisting in machine configuration suggestions, and providing customer training. The Applications Specialist will also support the Solution Center team in providing customer demonstrations, as needed. One of their primary goals is assisting in taking a customer's concept to reality, helping in developing their process into final products, while providing unparalleled customer service.
Essential Functions
The duties listed below are the specific duties and tasks that someone in this position must accomplish. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the level and/or class of this position.
Develop and validate customer parts, including the creation and optimization of part programs.
Installation, set-up, and program machine tooling required to perform the customer applications.
Provide support to customers both during and after the sales process.
Solve minor technical issues found during the commissioning, tooling validation, acceptance, and/or installation processes.
Analyze customer drawings to determine the feasibility of an application utilizing BLM's product offerings.
Collaborate with Pre-Sales Applications and Sales team to suggest features, accessories, and/or software products to aid the customer in their application.
Conduct customer run-off acceptance tests, while managing the customer relationship and thoroughly documenting the results.
Conducts customer training on the proper use and function of the Tube & Wire Forming Products as needed.
Performs customer visits to support and assist in applications requests.
Travel up to 50% as required by management.
Executes the internal procedures of BLM GROUP USA to perform the required job functions to successfully complete Tube & Wire Forming Products projects.
Maintains a positive rapport and business relationship with internal and external customers by providing outstanding customer service.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Other duties as assigned by management.
